First I would like to say that I am extremely excited to add this "Lux Restaurant Of The Month" feature to my blog. Two things that you may not know about me is that I am obsessed with what I call "luxury service" and I love food! I work retail so I always like for my customers to feel like they are getting a luxury experience and when I spend my hard earned money when I am going out, I am looking to have a great time and have a luxury experience as well. I love good vibes and great food, ya know?
When I first made a visit to Savannah Blue it was a random night and I didn't expect to end up at such a chic space. I went up the stairs and they had coat check which is always great and the decor and ambiance instantly made me feel welcomed. There was a living room with vibrant colors, a piano, candles lit and soulful music playing all through the restaurant. I sat at the bar with my boyfriend and we had great drinks, delicious cornbread and seafood chowder which was absolutely amazing!
After visiting for the first time I came back a second time for happy hour and a third time for dinner for a girls night out! Of course I had to bring my girls back with me to show them just how good this contemporary soul food and bomb martinis were. For happy hour I had the dry rub wings and fried shrimp which came in the cutest holder with newspaper wrap inside! Another thing about me is that I am a lover of fine decor! I love how Savanna Blue has up-beat music, lux decor and also incorporates historical figures in their main dining area.
Last but certainly not least I ordered Shrimp and Grits for dinner and pumpkin pie for dessert! When I say it was delicious, OMG! The shrimp was layered on top of perfectly made grits and andouille mushroom gravy sauce on top. This dish is perfect for someone who loves seafood and wants a little southern spice. Even though I had to keep my water close, I ate the whole thing and loved every bite of it!
Both of my friends ordered the seafood chowder and they loved it! One of my friends ordered the crab cake and it taste so delicious that I almost ended up ordering that as well, but I knew I should save room for dessert. After asking the bartender what her favorite dessert was she recommended the sweet potato pie. I split it with my friends and it was for sure the best way to end my night there.
I give Savannah Blue two thumbs up and I highly suggest for my readers and supporters to visit if you are ever in Downtown Detroit and want a luxury experience!
