I've always been interested in fashion, but having style was nothing I really cared about until I had a conversation with someone back in college. I remember I was a sophomore and I was in the cafeteria waiting on my roommate to meet me. Another girl that I knew walked to the table and sat down to keep me company. I always thought her style was very unique. She stood out, it was different to me. Especially since at the time a lot of the girls on campus wore almost the same thing, a Victoria Secret Outfit and Uggs (LOL - that was for sure my favorite 2 things to wear).
I remember telling her, "I really like your style, it's fashionable and creative. I'm creative too, but I just don't really dress like it...". She laughed and she said, "Why?". I had no idea why...After that I continued to just dress "cute", but never really put too much thought into my outfits. It wasn't until recently that I started to fashionably express myself and I can honestly say I feel great about it. I feel like I'm being 100% me and I don't have to think about that "Why" question anymore.
I used to think if I dressed up and wore heels on a "regular day", I would be doing way too much - but now I could care less. Every day is a blessing, so why not celebrate it and dress up? When you look your best, you feel your best. There is nothing like putting together an outfit and feeling nice when you wear it.
I'm on a journey this year to grow, have fun and be 100% me. I'm having so much fun doing these (#OOTD Outfit of The Day) blog post because I am really getting to show and see my style. It's kind of like a cool blog portfolio.
Even if you are not a blogger, I would suggest taking photos whenever you dress up and making sure it's a full body picture. Print those pictures out at the end of the year and put them in a photo album. This way you will see your style evolve and can remember all the amazing outfits you put together! Think of it like a fun fashion project.
